1. Purpose of the Initiative
This fundraising initiative is organised by South London Islamic Centre (SLiC) for the sole purpose of raising funds for the masjid and its projects, for the sake of Allah. Participation is voluntary, and all funds raised will go directly towards SLiC causes.
2. Fundraising Period
The initiative will run from [start date] until 27th March.
Only donations received within this period will be counted towards the fundraiser’s total.
3. Eligibility to Participate
Participants must register to take part and have an official SLiC individual fundraising page created for them.
Participants must be able to legally fundraise and collect donations in the UK.
SLiC reserves the right to approve or decline participation at its discretion.
4. Minimum Fundraising Requirement
To be eligible for the Umrah gift, a participant must raise a minimum of £5,000 during the fundraising period.
Participants who raise less than £5,000 will still be rewarded by Allah for their efforts, but will not be eligible for the gift.
5. Donations & Payment Methods
Donations can be made via one-off payments or recurring monthly payments (standing orders).
All donations must be made through the official SLiC fundraising platform/page to be counted.
Offline or cash donations will only be counted if officially recorded and verified by SLiC.
6. Intention & Conduct
Participants are reminded that this initiative is an act of ‘ibadah and community service.
Fundraising must be carried out with good character, honesty, and integrity.
Any form of misleading information, pressure tactics, or misrepresentation will result in disqualification.
7. The Umrah Gift
The Umrah gift consists of Umrah tickets for two (flights & hotel included).
The gift has been kindly donated by a local brother and business purely as encouragement to do good.
The gift is a gesture of appreciation, not a wage, prize, or contractual entitlement.
8. Winner Selection
The eligible participant who raises the highest total verified amount by 27th March will receive the Umrah gift, InshaAllah.
In the event of a tie, SLiC reserves the right to determine the outcome fairly.
9. No Cash Alternative
The Umrah gift is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
10. Accountability & Transparency
SLiC’s records will be final regarding donation totals.
SLiC may audit fundraising activity if required.
11. Disqualification
SLiC reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
Breaches these Terms & Conditions
Acts dishonestly or unethically
Damages the reputation of SLiC or the masjid
12. Amendments
SLiC reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions if necessary, with notice given where possible.
13. Reminder on Intention
Participants are strongly reminded that the true reward is with Allah.
The Umrah gift is secondary, and participants should guard their intention from riyaa’, ego, or unhealthy competition.
